State of the art of harvesting and production of wood energy in New Aquitaine
In New Aquitaine, wood energy represents nearly 1.5 million tonnes per year from forests or wood recycling channels. To support its wood energy development policy, ADEME entrusted FORET LOGISTIQUE CONSEIL with carrying out a survey on the means of harvesting and producing wood energy in the New Aquitaine region. The results have been available since September 2019.
To support its policy of encouraging the use of wood energy and to inform the development of the various regional plans and programs (Regional biomass scheme, Regional wood forest plan) linked to the development of the forest-wood sector, ADEME needs to have an inventory of the means of harvesting and production of wood energy in the New Aquitaine region.
Forêt Logistique Conseil carried out a detailed inventory:
- regional operators and their equipment contributing to mechanized exploitation and the production of wood energy;
- managers of energy wood storage / maturing platforms and their facilities.
This consultation took place in a confidential setting for the companies contacted. Forêt Logistique Conseil and ADEME undertake not to disclose any personal information. Only the overall results of the inventory are made public. Two documents are available: the full report and a non-technical summary.
